It just starts with one. After a few years, when you have a hundred or more, you begin to wonder "Am I a sick puppy or what?". Then you see you have a lot of company. At least it's something you can multiply so you can give away new starts and get others addicted as well to your obsessive/compulsive hobby.

do you dig up your bulbs and store them over the winter?

Mine grow indoors year-round. I repot every six months or so because I use a soilless mix.
