pruning angelwing canes

my angelwing is putting up new canes and i will like to get rid of any canes that look like they have been cut back

has anyone pruned their canes to ground or below ground level??

or will it rot where its cut off underground?

Yes, you can prune them to the ground. You can take the cuttings and start new plants if you want to.

seems like a lot of people never seen these before. as soon as they see the leaves, they want one
