| hi there, what are you trying to pollinate? showy tuberous begonias will have a female flower flanked by two, plainer males. in rhizos/canes etc. you'll notice that the females have a winged ovary. i put a link at bottom that illustrates te difference, and also shows the tiny, tiny seeds (really, a fine dust). i've noticed that the male and female flowers often open at different times on the same plant. if you're trying to cross-pollinate, you may want to save pollen in the refrigerator from one plant until you have a suitable female flower to pollinate on another. -ming |
