What is the difference between the Rex and Angel Wing Begonias?

I have loved Begonias since I was in 7th grade. I have been vexed with their absolute beauty and I have especially fallen in love with the Angel Wings. However, I still can't figure out what the difference is between Rex and Angel Wing. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

RE: What is the difference between the Rex and Angel Wing Begonia

Angel wing begonias are more properly called cane begonias. They grow upright and have more distance between the nodes than other types of begonias. They usually bloom several times during active growth (even indoors). They can be small to very large.

Rex begonias are in the rhizomatous group and typically grow horizontally (creeping rhizomes) although some may grow more upright but have shortened stems. Rexes (King Begonia) usually have colorful leaves compared to other rhizomatous begonias. The lines become blurred as more hybrids have been introduced as to what is a rex and what looks like a rex. The true rex species (B. rex Putzey) is one of the parents of rex hybrids but a lot of rex looking begonias have no rex Putzey in them. Rexes typically bloom in fall but can have sporadic blooming at other times. Rexes usually defoliate in winter too and go into a dormancy for a few weeks. Rexes are also very susceptible to powdery mildew.

Wow, thanks a lot! I googled it yesterday and didn't come up with a thing. So I started looking at pictures and, for some reason, I just knew which was which. Of course, I have loved Angel Wings for so long...they're like your own children; you'd know them from anywhere.
