Begonia 'Flamingo Queen'

Several years ago I saw a plant of the cane begonia "Flamingo Queen." Was beautiful, so have tried to locate one. Kartuz Greenhouse was out of stock for well over a year and now they no longer list it. So I am wondering if there is some inherent problem in growing this cultivar. Has anyone out there grown "Flamingo Queen"? What do you think of it? Thanks.

No help, but I have been looking for this cultivar for a long time. Please let me know if you find it and where.

Hi, there. I have what appears to be a Flamingo Queen Begonia sitting on my piano :) I'm not really sure, but the few pictures I could find indicate that it is one. It grows like crazy and blooms often. I find it drinks a lot of water and gets droopy if it doesn't have water every day or so. We didn't know what it was (I got it from my mother-in-law as a cutting) but it's doing well.

I was curious--a frequent problem of mine!--and went looking. Dave's site has one vendor that lists this--Bonnie's Greenhouse. I went looking for Bonnie's Greenhouse but the links didn't work, or maybe I didn't! I think she's listed in the Begonia journal, but mine isn't handy. I'll look. Good resource, the Begonian. Guess I should try the ABS website, huh? Garden Watchdog has only positive reviews.

I don't think Bonnie's Greenhouse is selling the real deal. I saw a picture of one bought there posted on Dave's a couple of days ago and it did not look like it. Victoria's is advertising 'Flamingo' (no Queen on the end) but I've never bought from there. Her 'Anna Grace' looks similar to FQ. Victoria I got a FQ at the L.A. convention (Kartuz was the grower I think) and it isn't doing too hot now (just hope it makes it through living in the dimly lit basement for a couple more months). I would put an order into Kartuz and hope they can get you one before spring comes or shortly after.
