beef steak Begonia?

| Is this a beef steak begonia? Is there a latin name for this specific plant?

| The leaf shape does not look like beef steak. Beef steak is rounder but the name may be used for other begonias as well. The name I think you are looking for is 'Erythrophylla'. My 'Erythrophylla':
If the leaves are hairy, I would guess 'San Miguel'. My 'San Miguel':

| Margie2, I bought my 'Erythrophylla' from Glasshouse Works. It is listed there for $3.50 but shipping may easily double the price. There may be a minimum purchase as well. Lauray of Salisbury had it listed for $6 but their web site is denying access this morning for some reason. As for 'San Miguel' I bought mine at Logees a couple of years ago but they don't have it listed anymore. Butch |
