specifically luxurians. i have a couple of these 'dr. seuss begonias' as i call them. they've been decently happy in my south facing bathroom window.
my questions:
1) will they eventually branch out at all? so far the growth pattern has been in height only. the clusters of leaves mature and die off and new ones keep coming, along with occasional flower clusters.
2) my newer leaf swirls are smaller than they were when i got them (the pic is from when i had just gotten that one. now it's about 5 inches taller, with smaller leaves. would it prefer more light (which is on its way, thanks to springtime) or more fertilizer?
3) are these as easy to propagate as other cane begonias? i haven't tried it yet.

Wow, that's a very interesting plant. I haven't seen one like it but I think I need to add it to my wish list.

RE: a question about palmate begonias

Yes, they do branch. But they have to be really happy. This is not a small growing plant. Mine is about 6 feet tall. Actually I have 2, planted in 2 different locations. One I did not stake, and it sprawls in the planting bed. The other I planted by a stream, and staked. Its main stem is about 6 ft tall, and it has branched and put out other stems that I have allowed to lean and run along the side by the stream.

I also have a specimen for trade, so Solstice or anyone else who may be interested, contact me.

I am posting 2 photos here....the first is a shot of my streamside specimen, or at least the last 2 or so feet of it LOL

The 2nd is the plant I have for trade. Its in a 4 inch pot, has 4 stems that are all 2 ft in length. If I don't trade it soon I have to repot it. Make me an offer.

I am looking for Begonia incisa, that's pretty much the only begonia I am in the market for, but I like all tropical plants, especially philodendrons, anthuriums, hoyas, dividions of orchids, and other epiphytes and aroids. Love bromeliads, too
