Help overwatered begonia What to do??

i was just given a begonia (angelwing I think) that has been EXTREMELY overwatered. in november this plant had beautiful foilage and now has about 15 leaves on a 4ft plant. the plant has not been watered for about 6 weeks but they did not empty the drip pan so it sat in STINKY water at least that long.

what should I do... repot with dry soil, wait it out, prune it, i need serious plant help. too cold to put it outside (freezing tonight in Georgia). I really want to save it since it is my recently passed Grandma's plant.

thanks!

You can pull the plant out of the pot and let it air dry somewhat on some newspaper. If the plant is in too large a pot you can also "pot down" to a smaller size so it dries out quicker. Repotting will allow you to use a faster draining media if the old media is slow draining. Take cuttings to shape the plant and start new plants for insurance.
