Antonelli's Burned Down!

I live in Soquel and they had a huge fire. There were all sorts of problems with Pesticides going down the drain into the local Soquel Creek. Im shocked since I love to visit and just walk around and spend money...

Very sorry to hear this,a friend of mine who lives at Carmel went up there a couple of weeks ago to buy some tubers for me as I was coming over to Los Angeles the following week.

She said that place was terribly run down and delapidated since the last time she visited some years ago.
I have just planted my tubers so lets hope they thrive.

I do hope that the nursery opens up again after this set back but acording to Judi she felt that their business was largely mail order these days.

Very sad news. Those gardeners who have Antonelli plant material may be able to give some back to them so they can rebuild their strains. I was just about to place my order... does anyone have another good source for begonia tubers? Jackie

RE: Antonelli's Burned Down!

Antonelli's had there cycles, bloom-high prices, sell off dying flowers for (bulbs etc)low prices, no stock for dormant season, sell all green newbies for high prices..... Sometimes the place looked terrible others it was like a beautiful wonderland blooming with colors. I hope they come back soon

I just noticed on Antonelli's Web site that they are up and running for the sale of tubers again so that is good news

I'd love to order from them. Do you think they are really going to be able fill orders after the fire?

 o
RE: Antonelli's Burned Down!

Well it says in large red letters that due to a fire we are open for the sale of tubers only.... so sounds as if you should be able to order. I am sure they would welcome business at this difficult time.
