What happened to my begonias???

I bought three hanging baskets of begonias a week ago, and they look ill. Forgive me for not knowing the types. They are the standard ones you see in nurseries with bright green leaves and little light pink flowers. I gave them some Miracle-Gro "Bloom Booster" hung them in a shady area and now some of the stems are drooped over the side of the basket hanging straight down. Help, please! More water? More sun? What's causing their demise?

Thanks,
Michelle

Michelle, they possibly wax begonias. Could you have given them too much fertilizer? Most people won't fertilze plants when they first get them. I'm in a minority, I will fertilize with Miracle Grow, but at about 1/20 of the strength they recommend. Could the wind have damaged some of them? Please look up wax begonia's on the internet. If that is what you have, they like sun. However, wax begonia's don't usually hang. What do the flowers look like? Regards, Lynne

Yes! They are definitely wax begonias. Thank you, thank you so much for responding!!! I think you are onto something. I don't think it's the sun, because the plant that looks the most ill out of the three actually gets the most sun. I do, however, think you hit the nail on the head about the wind and the miracle-gro. I am such a novice...I really poured that Miracle-gro in there especially to the sick one hoping it would get better and it got worse. Here's the next question, what can I do to save the poor thing?

Thanks,
Michelle
