Windy today: Tuberous Begonia Broken Stem

I just started falling in love with Tuberous Begonias. This year I started my tubers inside and they grew beautifully (no flowers yet). Thanks to wonderful Chicagoland weather, the wind picked up today and one of my plants were cracked off at the tuber. I was in tears. Trying to be the optismic begonia lover, I was wondering if I can propogate the stem that was broken (in water currently) and also save the still planted tuber....or am I doomed?

I guess I'm not ready for such beauties.

Thoughts are appreiciated...

Gina
