Care & Propagation of Wax Begonias

I have a small wax begonia growing in my yard. It has tiny pink flowers and the stems are easily beakable. So far the growth has been very slow and although not dying does not seem to be doing well. Can anyone offer suggestions on caring for these wax begonias? I also snapped off 2 stems at the joint and transplanted them into a pot. Is there anything I should know about propagating from a young plant? Thanks.
