Succulent begonia overheated.

We had a major heatwave this weekend, when I was out of town, and the succulent begonia I bought a week ago got WAY too dry. It's a fairly young plant and barely has any caudex on it, so it doesn't look like it's all that drought tolerant yet.

One of the main stems end up wilting to the point of snapping (I'm going to try to root that, I guess). Other stem bounced back, but a lot of the leaves are looking pretty fried.

So, here's the question: I heard these have a dormant period, but are they winter or summer dormant (or is it wholly water dependent?) Additionally, if they should be growing this time of year, any advice on helping it get over having gotten too dry?
