Wow didn't realize there was so much more to begonias. Just bought some of mocca deep orange tuberous begonias. These have dark almost black leaves. The nursery told me that these some sun to bloom but are primarily shade. The question is how much sun do you think it can take? Sun till 2pm? Water requirements once established?

I find they do best with morning sun. Until 2 p.m. would likely be too intense. Water when soil is almost dry.

I've always had one over here, one there, then bought a cane one in a hanging basket last spring. I'm hooked & have already turned it into several plants around the porch and gave a few away. Then my neighbor gave me a few plants this week with much more interesting leaves and I have a sudden and quite strong addiction. It usually takes me a while to fall head over heels over a type of plant, but I'm ready to commit.
