Light conditions for angel wing begonias ?

I bought a couple of what I call "angel wing begonias" growing in hanging baskets. But these are not the spotted leaf kind I see in greenhouses. The leaves are shiny and solid green, and the flowers are similar to a wax begonia flower. The leaves are on long arching stems. They were not expensive, therefore I assume they are not something very exotic.

I assumed it was a shade plant, and hung it under a pergola in filtered sunlight. I was out of town for while and found my husband had moved it to the front, where it gets pretty hot sun from about 8 am to 2 pm. But it doesn't seem to have suffered, at least not yet. Before we start playing this game of moving it back and forth (me to the shady backyard, him to the front), what does it really like?

If you want big beautiful leaves, then put it in shade but if you want blooms, then some sun will be beneficial. The leaves may lose some silver streaking or dots but they will be tougher.

Some canes bloom in dimmer situations than others but most require some sun. Best to keep it out of hot midday to early afternoon direct sun but there are some that can take that as well (Dragon Wings, superbas for instance).

I looked at some pictures on this forum, maybe what I have is called a dragon wing begonia. (Angels, dragons, they all have 6 limbs, right?) There are no spots nor silver shading. Just a solid green leaf with a touch of red at the very edge (the bloom is red).

Sounds like Dragon Wings. They can take full sun if kept watered adequately.
