Light conditions for angel wing begonias ?

I bought a couple of what I call "angel wing begonias" growing in hanging baskets. But these are not the spotted leaf kind I see in greenhouses. The leaves are shiny and solid green, and the flowers are similar to a wax begonia flower. The leaves are on long arching stems. They were not expensive, therefore I assume they are not something very exotic.

I assumed it was a shade plant, and hung it under a pergola in filtered sunlight. I was out of town for while and found my husband had moved it to the front, where it gets pretty hot sun from about 8 am to 2 pm. But it doesn't seem to have suffered, at least not yet. Before we start playing this game of moving it back and forth (me to the shady backyard, him to the front), what does it really like?
