Has anyone else seen these begonias? I just discovered them on line about a year ago and wanted to see them for myself.
They are so beautiful. I finally found a nursery that has some of them and they are even more striking in person then in the photos.
I still really want "Chicago Fire" and that one was not in the group available. There are a lot more in the series and I know once I get Chicago Fire... I'll have another "Gotta have it" begonia picked out. This could go on and on. LOL
i've been to the GAC site many times trying to ID rexes. :) i see lots of these guys around in box stores and nurseries. they certainly have a few lookers!
Check Hirt's greenhouses on eBay. I did not see 'Chicago Fire' though.

Booman Floral has them but not for retail. I guess they are the ones who created this series.

Check local nurseries, Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware (especially if they have a greenhouse). It's usually hit or miss so visit often through the growing season.
Logee's has a couple of them ('New York Swirl', 'Mini Miami', 'Miami Storm', and other nice rexes as well). You could check with Lyndon Lyon for some nice rexes (not GAC series though). Rob's Violets has some small rexes as well.
Thanks for the advice and information. Ming, I'll keep looking while I travel this summer. I'm sure to find some things I want. Butch, I appreciate your suggestions and links. Nature Hills looks good. Many years ago I used to order from Logees and someplace in NJ.(still trying to recall the name) I had forgotten about both of them and it will be fun to see what they have now. Thanks again, Beth
I received one as a gift last year purchased from a local independent nursery just before Thanksgiving. (May be easier to find when gift giving season comes around.) Its absolutely the most beautiful plant and well worth searching for. You're right, the pictures just cant do it justice. It really lives up to its name..even more so when the sun shines on or through it.
I had no idea it was one of a Great American Cities Series until I read your post tonight. Never even heard of that but I'll have to check it out. I may need to search out others too. Thanks for the info and good luck in your search. You won't be disappointed. Sandy
