grandmother's reseeding begonia

I have my grandmother's begonia..which reseeds like crazy. It also comes back after a freeze. I'm not sure what the variety is...but is it common for hardy begonias to reseed???? I read where they form "bulbs" near leaf axils???? This begonia has ultra fine seeds..that will wash down the sides of the pot and sprout at the holes on the bottom!! The flowers are pink and the leasves are green and light bronze...guess I should try to post a pic.

RE: grandmother's reseeding begonia

Sounds like the 'yard begonia' I was introduced to when I first moved down here. (Your LA is Louisiana, like mine, isn't it? Sometimes it means Los Angeles, and sometimes people thing that's where I'm from!) I haven't been satisfied with the possible names I've found for it, but I think it's a semp species. Mine is usually more white than pink, tho' it's 'pink-ish'--makes lots of seeds and has to be cut back periodically to keep it looking tidy, but I like it very much. Strictly no care!
