Miracle Grow and Begonias

I watered several of my begonias with Miracle Grow plant food and now several of them have died. They just dried up and withered. Is there a possibility that I gave them too much fertilizer?

Hi Phil, I use Miracle Gro all the time, actually every other week and with great success. It has always improved my plants performance including my begonias. Did you use the miracle gro aplicator? It dilutes the formula when attached to a hose. Other forms of application are the feed and gro type. Wayne

I did use the applicator attached to a hose. I am just puzzled.

Maybe the applicator mis-functioned? Too-strong fertilizer could certainly damage plants, but unless there was a major break-down I wouldn't think that would do it. But I tend to under-fertilize, partly to avoid that very problem-- (Actually, I under- most everything. Under water, under pot--except when I want a begonia I know will grow big quickly, when I over-pot--!) They take a lot of abuse. 'My name is Nancy, and I'm a plant-abuser.' Oh dear.
