| My first on-top sunset begonia is blooming...
The long sturdy pedicel really gives "on-top" truth to name...

| Simply gorgeous! but i have a question and i am a newbie to begonias. i have planted several NON-STOP varieties in my shade gardens...they look just like that but the flowers bloom, it seems, behind and under the leaves. is that what makes this an ON TOP and mine a NON STOP? and, do these plants like to be deadheaded? i've noticed they drop older blooms almost automatically but do they need help with that? :)) thanks! |

| This is what on-top do. They put the flowers out of the foliage. Most other tuberous begonias including non-stops tend to flower in the leaves and require you to coach the blooms out or cut some of the leaves off. Begonias do not need to be deadheaded. they tend to drop the flowers themselves, but deadheading to keep them neat is ok, too. |
