Just a quick note to say "hello" and to introduce myself. My name is Greg Sytch, and besides being a well-known begonia grower, I have also been the Horticultural Correspondent for the Amer Beg Society for the past decade. I Live in Tampa Bay, zone 9b but usually 10a, and grow many varieties, about 200 or so, including so of my own famous hybrids. I am a middle school teacher in Intensive Reading (struggling readers)and sell out of my shadehouses all year long. My yard is not huge, but I make good use of it with three shadehouses and a lush landscape full of tropicals. If you have any questions, or want some help, email me. I do not have a lot of time, but I do enjoy helping and growing begonias and tropicals. If there is a way for messages to show up on my main email, please someone tell me. I am rather new at this! Thanks! Greg

Good to see you back, Greg. For anyone who doesn't know him, he really does have some beautiful hybrids, and knows what he's talking about when asked for advise.

Thanks for the welcome. All those Tampa Bay growers, check out USF's summer plant festival in July (14th/15th) its a wonder of plants! I will be a vendor. Our hot, humid, DRY June is no better this year. We seem to miss most fo the rain. Yesterday it boomed for hours. Not a drop. My friend a few miles away got an inch. Typical Florida. I live close to the beach (about a mile) and sometimes it keeps the storms away, but also provides a nice sea breeze to temper our 90+ afternoons. Our dewpoint yesterday was a pleasant 72F, not too bad, and it was 74.7F when I woke up! Cool for us. My begonias, however, are beautiful this year due to a nice spring. You are welcome to visit my 4 shadehouses full of begonias by appt. I am off until Mid Aug....Greg :-))
