| Got a catalog from them and have been drooling over some of the begonias. Has anyone ordered from them, and if so, were you happy with what you got?

I've ordered from them off and on for many years. My personal feeling is they send good strong plants, a little over-priced, and I sure liked 'em better when they had a LOT more varieties. Guess prices can't be expected to stay the same, but seems like they've gone up an awful lot. What I really regret is how many less varieties, both of begonias and many others, they have now. Other good places I've ordered include Rob's Violets (yes, they have begonias too, though mostly smaller-growing ones) and Lauray of Salisbury. If I weren't so retarded I'd give you a link, but you can google them with those names.

They are within driving distance of me and are a destination point for NE gardeners. They have a unique selection and are reputable.

I have ordered from Logee's and I absolutely do recommend them. I agree with greenelbows that they are a bit expensive and the number of begonia cultivars has decreased recently. I believe there was a change in ownnership or management recently. Same family, but a new generation. i will continue to buy from them because running a mail order greenhouse in CT has to be a labor of love. I doubt these folks are getting rich doing this. I hope they will be around for a long time to come.

They are expensive but usually you will get a very well grown plant from them. If you can't find the plant locally or on eBay for a good price, then Logees is a good place to buy. The 3rd generation is running the place now and from the talk that Byron Martin gave at the national convention this year, they are moving in the right direction. At least his talk was about tissue culture (which they are doing) so hope other good things come out of Logees in the future.

Same as above. I do recommend Logees for begonias. I'm disappointed that their varieties have decreased but you receive small but beautiful, well grown plants. At least I have always been happy with my orders in the past.

I have ordered many times from Logee's and find their plants to be of very good quality. I know they are a bit expensive, but most places are today. I just recieved three very nice begonias from them yesterday.

I was well pleased with all of my orders from Logees. I ordered a Begonia 'Caravan' last year and it is still performing wonderfully. The plants are small when you get them, but they are well grown. I don't believe I've ever lost a plant from Logee's, other than my own stupid mistakes!!! GH

I have been pleased with Logees too. My first order was in "93" I still have 2 begonias from that original order. I have given cuttings away and they just keep growing. Looking Glass & Lady Claire were actually substitutes they provided.

I go there 3-4 times a year [when I go to Foxwoods casino] and their plants are great. I could [and do] spend hours walking around their greenhouses. If you can, definately schedule a visit.

I too have ordered from Logee's with great success, it was some years ago, the only Begonia in my order was "Tea Rose". I was importing so they sent my order through a broker. They were only in they post for about a week, my order arrived in great shape. Even as far as British Columbia. A......
