Canes and Rexes

Pictures of some of my rexes and canes despite downpours some days and blast oven heat (heat index around 105) other days.

Bunch of rexes

'Can Can', 'Fireworks', 'Purple Curl', unknown rhizo, and thinking 'Fairy'

Large 'Mikado' just purchased from Ace Hardware. That is a 12 inch architect's scale in front.

Lots of canes.

Close up of some canes.

One 18" pot of canes. I think they are 'Little Miss Mummey', 'Irene Nuss', and 'Albo-picta'.

Last large pot of canes. This is 'Sinbad' and 'Chocolate'. There is also 'Torch', 'Richmondensis', and 'Maribel' in there as well but 'Sinbad' is the big plant.

Wow! That is AWESOME! I am so jealous... Love the rexes especially. Do you ever trade?

Mo,

Thanks for the comments. Shame the camera is not up to task. As for trade, it depends.

Hey Butch, interested in exchanging cuttings? I just returned from the Strybing arboretum sale (San Fran) with some scrumptious begonias. I'm just now getting them listed in my personal 'log'. I am interested in the (looks like b. carolinifolia? bottom center of photo five)
Who is the pretty green gal in the right lower corner of photo one? and the gal that looks like a maple leaf?
cheers,
Lali

Lali,

That could be carolineifolia, but it was purchased as thiemei. I wish I knew what the difference is between the two. The pretty green "gal" in the lower right corner of photo one is unknown. I got it at the Key West Botanical Center with another large begonia (either 'Sunbar' or 'Suncana') in a 3 gallon pot for the ridiculous price of $4. Due to the nature of its leaves it holds water like a cup. I wonder if it is 'Coffee Cup'? As for the last picture, you might have to be a bit more specific on the one that looks like a maple leaf. If it is the one in photo 3 at the bottom right, then that would be 'Big Mac'.
