Dragon Wing Begonia... Winter care for zone 5

I have a gorgeous dragon wing begonia I purchased this summer. It is massive! I wanted to bring it in and keep it in the basement for the winter in hopes that it will bounce back in the spring. Is this possible? Also, I'm wondering if it would help to cut it back since it has overgrown the hanging basket it sits in? I have a large sliding glass door facing the south side of the house in my basement. Would it be ok to sit the begonia next to the door? Or should I keep it away from light all together?

Thanks..
