New indoor Reiger Begonias- Brown leaves, help!

| I just bought 2 gorgeous reigers about a week ago- one has beautiful bright pink flowers and the other has peachy colored flowers. They're both in windows that face south, so they get a lot of indirect light and I don't keep my apartment particularly cold or hot. I let them dry a little before watering, usuallly once a week.
My question is- Why are the flowers turning brown? And not just brown as in, "they're dead, used up, trim 'em off", but they're turning brown at the edges even before the flower has completely bloomed.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

| Maybe its just shock from the change of location. I bought this one type of angel wing begonia that was blooming profusely and the flowers just started turning brown and droping, even the newly formed buds. But it's now producing new flowers and its liking its new place. The environment at nurseries is quite different than at home, especially the humidity factor. I just get a humidifier and put the platns together to create a microclimate. Hopefully your begonia is just going some shock. Just keep doing what you are doing, and hopefully in a couple of weeks they'll be blooming anew again. :-) |
