| In mid September, a friend gave me a small rhizome from a begonia she was growing in a pot under some shade trees. The whole plant was the green and dark mottled color you can see on the lower leaves of my plant. I am growing this one under lights, and all the new growth is this dark, solid color. Is it getting too much light, or will the leaves change as the plant gets older? |

| A lot of begonias are variable in patterns and color. Some change as they age, some change due to the amount of light, some due to the climate. Add more light and see if it changes or back it away from the light. |
