 o
what kind of begonia is this?

Spotted this growing in a butterfly world, in the understory. Is it a form of iron cross, and would I be able to propagate it from a leaf/cutting if I asked for one?

no, dont think so.

It could be any one of (maybe) eyelash begonia-does it have little 'hairs' around the edge of the leaves?

Or maybe 'tiger kitten' or couple of others that I have upstairs-(sorry, cant remember the names)
oh, well, sorry!

And propagatable?

Definitely not an 'Iron Cross' hybrid.B. bowerae has produced many hybrids with similar markings and many do look alike. It looks to me a little like the 'nigramarga' form but can't tell from the picture how large the leaves are. I agree the eyelashes would be a good clue.

They propagate easily from a leaf.

Thanks green knees!

There is one listed on eBay that looks like the same thing - 'Max Gold'.

'Tiger Kitten' and 'Kit Kat' are very similar too.
