| My Begonia "Caravan" has sprouted a new leaf, so soft and velvety. Love those velvety leaves and "hairy" stems!...which makes me wonder, what is the purpose of the "hair" on the stems and leaves? Some varieties seem to have much more hair than others. |

| I think one theory is the hairs protect the leaves from sunburn and hold moisture. |
