New hardy begonias

I've been trialing a lot of new begonias for hardiness in my zone 7a/b garden in the last few years. Here's my first blog post discussing some of these begonias: http://dctropics.blogspot.com/2014/11/beyond-begonia-grandis-new-hardy.html

Some of the more interesting ones:

Begonia grandis 'Nanjiang Silver', a new wild collection of the species with silver-splashed leaves:

Begonia 'Torsa', a B. grandis hybrid with enormous leaves:

Begonia formosana, with large glossy leaves marked with tiny white spots:

These ain't your grandma's hardy begonias! All the begonias in this blog post survived the 2013-2014 winter--my area's coldest winter in 20 years--with only light mulch for protection.
