Ooh! My 3rd Begonia!

| It's a mini called "Tiger Princess". Actually it's a couple of leaves and a half. I've never propagated a Begonia before; is it exactly like an AV? How much petiole should I leave?

| hi korina, you can do a rhizomatous begonia leaf in many ways. i like to take the whole or half of a leaf, cut off the pointed tip(s) and leave about and inch of stem on. use a light, pourous mix (heavy on perlite, vermiculite, and with a bit of peat moss or potting mix)and stick it in, AV style. i use a terrarium environment (humidity and warmth) and have probably 80-90% success. be careful not to keep the substrate too wet or you'll have a probablem with rotting.

| Hey, I have babies! Well, two so far, but still, they're my first... So how large should they be before I take them off? And no one told me they come up the *back* of the mama leaves. I propped everything up a bit so new ones will have an easier time. I'm so excited! Korina |

good job! i wouldn't move them until you have at least 3-4 leaves on the baby plants. how about a picture? -ming |
