The species may occur together within a specified area but
you really need to have a portion of your pond that is heavily planted with emergent plants growing in fairly shallow water, prob. 6-8 inches. For the Hyla you will need shrubs or small trees that hang down close to the water. Protect from predation both adults and the tadpoles.
As all three of the species you list have varying degrees of Conservation concern be sure you can possess them legally in your area.
I would also fence off an area of the yard and convert it into a damp to wet meadow that is adjacent to the pool as the Rana is mostly aquatic, the Hyla is mostly terrestrial, and the Acris is also terrestrial but occur near bodies of quiet water where they are classed as semi-aquatic. |
