my alocasia "polly" plants leaves are cracking along edges and one leaf has already discolored and the stalk was severely drooping so i removed it. can someoe tell me what might be wrong w/ it and also it had a flower which was already dead before purchase but it didnt droop over until about the same time as the leaf. i have no direct sunlight or humidity inthe room i am renting but ihave warm misted it 1x everery day and take it close to boiling water so it is just close enough to get steamed for about 5 mins.per day, but not close enough to burn it .the problem started befor the steam+ mist.

Hi, I keep mine in a north facing window and I mist it twice a week. I have the pot sitting in a bowl of water so the soil is always moist. I have kept it like this since the early fall and it's doing quite well. I was wondering if your soil is moist at all times?
