Has anyone grown Taro or Elephant Ears in full sun in a bog?

| I have grown EE and Taro for the past few years in a partial sun location, but have been pondering the thought of putting them into my bog which is in a full sun location, and somewhat windy thought there is a bush behind them.
Any thoughts? Much appreciation in advance. |

| I have Imperial Taro (Illustris) on the edge of my pond in full sun. It does fine, but it's a zone 7 plant. You'd have to dig it up in your zone 5. I also have Black Magic in full sun, but don't know how that does as a bog plant. |

| I always bring my Taro in for the winter in zone 5, but am glad to hear that it takes full sun. I have a couple of Black Magic EE inside now, which I regularly grow in the pond. Maybe I should experiment, - one in the pond, one in the bog. Do you think it would take some wind? |

I live in zone 7B and grow them successfully in a bog or anywhere else. They last about three years and get smaller every year - don't know why.

| I grow all of my colacasia elephant ears in full sun submerged in my pond - and they winter over there as well. |

| I have regular EE's along with Black Magic, Illustris, Red stem and running EE's in my full sun bog and they are do extremely well. All have overwintered for me except I'm not sure of the red stem so I brought some in for the winter. Didn't want to lose it. |
