plants for soggy/wet area

greetings, did some searching around for past posts that
might help prior to my posts, but didn't find any, so here
goes
i also posted this on the texas forum
i'd like to plant a wet area with dietes bicolor, underplanted with creeping jenny
i can't seem to find any info that dietes can take the
wet
they (the dietes) were given to me as a going away gift
prior to our move, and i'm not sure where would be the
best place for them, my sun is limited and the area i
think will get enough sun is wet/soggy after rains
i have another area, more like a bog which i do plan to
use yellow and blue flags, and marsh marigolds, along with
cardinal flower
i have read that the flags can be invasive, but i have
a rather large boggy area, and i'd like nothing better
than to have them go to town
thanks in advance for any help

From what I've read Dietes bicolor prefers wet conditions in part shade to full sun. It will also become drought tolerant once established. On another note, they might be marginally hardy for you. Hope this helps! Rhonda

oh, if its at all possible, i'd love some bulbs. the area is just a low area on the property, but when we build the house, we intend to do a wetlands for grey water also. i've already changed all the soap/cleaners we use so i know whats going into the wetlands area. last week, i bought some horsetails, but they don't seem too happy out there, i think snails are munching on them, i can't get too close to them without mud boots, but i think i saw snails my cousin has a ton of spider lillies growing in the ditch next to her house, and she's gonna watch for when they bloom so i can dig them up too tesa

Love the site you posted. Do you have any fav places or nursery from where I can buy these?

No! But I keep a list with me or on hand when I go shopping so I always know what they are. If I happen across some of them I buy them then and there. I have memorized most of them now so if I misplace my list I still recognize the names of the plants when I see them.
