Plant ID, Gunnera?

Yesterday I found these "flowers" blooming beside and in a creek in Leavenworth county, Kansas (zone 5 or 6). Last year there were some plants that looked like Gunnera that were growing in the same spot...I'm assuming the plants are Gunnera tinctoria but I'm not sure. I'd like to know what these plants are, or have the Gunnera ID confirmed, because I'd like to do my best to keep them going. Pictures are here....
