Stachys palustris (aka Marsh betony)

Hello from suburban Maryland!

I was wondering if anyone else has grown this as a bog garden plant before?

I got it at Lowe's last summer, in the water garden plants. It grew well & had an abundance of small pink flowers. As I added more plants to the bog garden, I noticed that there were runners growing under the soil level & I believe that they are coming from this plant. Is this a plant that is likely to grow aggresively in a bog garden?

Thanks!

Dan

I have not grown it, but I looked it up and saw that it is in the mint family. Mints are known for their vigorous spreading. The title on the site listed below may give you some indication of what the plant is like. (They call it hedge nettle. I don't think too many people would buy something called hedge nettle.) You might want to try confining it by growing it in a pot buried in the soil, a common method for containing mints in the garden.
