skunk cabbage doing nothing

Hi everyone--Should I be worried about my skunk cabbage? There is a little green nub, probably about an inch high, and it has been that way for at least 3 weeks now. What is going on? There was no beautiful flower--I had visions of a flower melting snow around it--but that's not going to happen this year. Sigh.

My plant did the same. Just this past week did it start to grow. The Western and Japanese skunk cabbages were growing a couple of weeks before our eastern native.

I'm going to add a bit of composted manure around my plants to see if that will spur on some good growth this season.

Thanks! I'll try the manure thing too...it still is that little nub!
