Groundcover?

Hi all!!

My back yard borders on a lake. The portion of the yard closest to the water table is marginally boggy, and I created a perennial garden. I have had great luck with moisture-loving tall (i.e. 1 foot tall and higher) perennials, but just dismal with the groundcover situation.

Do you use anything in your boggy gardens as a groundcover? I am looking for something that flowers (preferably), but it doesn't necessarily have to be perennial. The soil is moderate clay.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!!

Jill

For a large area probably Lysimachia nummularia would cover quickest. There is an 'aurea' version with chartreuse-in-the-shade or golden-in-sun foliage which I like very much. josh

Here is a link that might be useful: Lysimachia nummularia
