Obedient Plant Problem...

Hey there everybody, I have a question about my obidient plant. I purchased if from an online plant dealer about two weeks ago and it came through pretty sickly looking. There were about three shoots and the bottom half of all three the leave were all brown and dead looking. On the top halves though, the plant was fairly healthy looking. I've heard was a voracious runner this plant is and I was expecting it to really take off but it hasn't, in fact it hasn't done anything, and a couple of the shoots are almost too long for the unestablished root system and im afraid they will fall over. I have it planted in a bog garden, with spag. peat and sand. No fertilizer. I thought this guy liked low nutrient soil and acidic environments. Any suggestions? Should I cut it back? Should I move it out? Should I ask the online dealer to send me a new plant?
