How can cranberries thrive in a nutrient-poor bog garden?

Hi,

I'd like to grow cranberries (that need nutrients) and purple sarracenias (Sarracenia purpurea) that cannot not, it is said, tolerate any nutrients in the substrate. How can I grow both in the same bog garden.

4' x 4' x 1' deep: spaghnum peat moss and sand. Should I add woodchips; can I add some soil for the cranberries?

p.s. in nature, I've seen cranberries and purple sarracenias growing together next to an acidic pond.

Thanks,

Steve
