Follow up question to my new bog garden

I just recently dug a place for a bog garden, right now its not garden its just bog!. However, we had a severe downpour and now it looks like soup. Does that mean I need to put more "bondable" dirt in? I have already put in 960 pounds of humus, dry peat, top soil--maybe I need some heavier dirt? If I wouldn't have built up the lower edge wall of it, it would have all spilled over onto the patio by now, thats how soggy it is !!

that's a nice big bog but you don't need more 'bondable' dirt.
Soup is great!!
One question. Was the 'fill' you put into the hole piled up nice and high above the ground?
If not, when everything starts settling you will have a dip in the ground. So you might need to add some more of one or all of your ingredients to build it up higher.

Ours gradually starts drying on the surface so we 'soup' it up about once a week.

thanx for the response. No, I didn't build it up higher than the ground, so that is what I will do, Ill just keep dragging 40# bags of dirt back there--I made this thing waaayyy too big!
