Can I use SWEETGUM mulch?

For a bog, can i use the mulch that came from a large sweet gum tree for mulch?

If the Sweetgum was recently removed and you are using the grindings from the stump, they should be composted at least a year before use as mulch in ANY situation.

I use only pine needles as mulch in my bog.
