Wintering a bog in Kansas

I put a bog garden in at work. It is not very big, 7'x 6'. I used pond lining, 10'' slits in the lining at the bottom, 3'' of sand over the bottom of the lining and a lot of peat moss. I have Pickerel, Lizards Tail, Corkscrew Rush, Water Hyacinth, Chameleon, and Dwarf Papyrus. The bog gets full sun all day and I fill it with fresh water, to keep the roots from rotting, about once a week.

I need to know what needs to be put in the greenhouse over the winter and if I need to mulch the bog and with what? This is the only bog we have, so I am going off of trial and error currently.

So far it has done quite well, except my peat moss as sunk to the bottom, ontop of the sand, rather than floating atop the water. When I originally put it together the layering went like this: liner, sand, water, peat moss. I'm not sure if I need to let it drain and the peat moss dry out a bit before I fill it again, or if I need less moss?

Any input would be much appreciated! Thank you.

I am not familiar with Corkscrew Rush or Chameleon, but otherwise Pickerelweed and Lizard's Tail should survive winter in zone 6. Water Hyacinth and Dwarf Papyrus are fortunately not hardy in your zone

It is normal for peat to sink to the bottom.
