| Can i start a bog in a container? I have a huge container that is about 3 feet deep and 5 feet wide that is mostly buried in my back yard. it is filled with water and only pickeral plants. luckily it is a mostly sunny location.
can i just dump peat into it? it is always filled with water because there are no holes in it. Can I also just leave it without drainage holes? |

| Half peat half sand is best. Moisten the mix before you put it in or the peat will be hard to get wet. Overfill because it will settle. 3 feet deep is nice, you can probably put 6 inches of packing peanuts at the bottom if you wanted (that will avoid peat rotting at the bottom.. Drainage holes around 6 inches down is what I have (as well as an overflow). Full sun z6 is great for pitcherplants, sundews, flytraps. |
