Can i start a bog in a container? I have a huge container that is about 3 feet deep and 5 feet wide that is mostly buried in my back yard. it is filled with water and only pickeral plants. luckily it is a mostly sunny location.

can i just dump peat into it? it is always filled with water because there are no holes in it. Can I also just leave it without drainage holes?

Half peat half sand is best. Moisten the mix before you put it in or the peat will be hard to get wet. Overfill because it will settle. 3 feet deep is nice, you can probably put 6 inches of packing peanuts at the bottom if you wanted (that will avoid peat rotting at the bottom.. Drainage holes around 6 inches down is what I have (as well as an overflow).

Full sun z6 is great for pitcherplants, sundews, flytraps.
