Pitcher Plant I got from Zone 8

Hi,

I traded some plants with a GW member and in return I got a pitcher plant from her garden. She lives in zone 8, near the Gulf Coast, in Louisiana and her pitcher plants stay in the ground year round. I've been growing the ones she sent me in a pot and they've done ok, but I'm wondering what I should do with them this winter. Should I plop the pot in the ground and wait for them to come up in the spring? I'm in Z5 and we have real winters here in Chicago.

Any help would be appreciated.
