Lesli8 I just ret'd a book back to the library and I believe that was the title. If I am not mistaken, the first part of the book deals w/ our heritage like Spanish, French, African influences. The second part of the book deals w/ the plants. I found it a good read. I have made it a point this spring to visit the library regularly and check out and read any books esp on Southern gardening. Have read Passalong Plants (very enjoyable) and now I'm on Bulletproof Flowers (not as good as I thought it would be). I highly recommend the library. It's free and I'm learning alot. |

| louisiana gal, see if your library can get for you Southern Gardens, Southern Gardening by William Lanier Hunt. It was published by duke university press in 1982 and it's one of my favs. Elizabeth Lawrence called him 'Billy Hunt' so you know he was part of the Southern elite in gardening. |
