i got a flyer advertising this book by Jerry BAker. It seems real interesting. It gives recommendations for natural products you have around the home to solve garden problems.I just wondered if the tips actually work.Such as watering a dormant plant with his tonic and birth control pill and it blooms,And Murphy's oil soap for slugs,a bug be gone spray to fight off pestsa hydrogen peroxide booster to make bulbs last longer. Is it as good as it sounds?

RE: 'Backyard problem Solver', has anybody read this?
I have this and I love it. My sister gave some of his books to me as christmas presents. I have used 2 of his recipes so far. He has one called "Leathol weapon" which works great. I even had a cat uproot things in my cactus garden so I sprayed the edges of the garden around the mailbox and haven't done it since. It is made from garlic, onions, and stuff and I spray it on my veggies and flowers all the time.Doesn't hurt anything and it works. The first time I used it in the house on my houseplants I thought it would leave an odor (DH hates garlic)but it didn't!! I have also used "All purpose bug Spray". I like it too but use the other more-seems to work better and it can be used everyday without hurting plants where as the chemics you buy can;t really be used all the time. Debbie in South Carolina
