Help in ID-ying these two plants...

Hi everyone!

This is my first post on the forum :)

I need some help in ID-ying a couple of plants I recently bought.

the first is a succulent (or so I suppose) that is have oppositely positioned leaves and red flowers (hanging, bell-shaped, 4 petals and with 8 stamens; I didn't see any female organ).

The second is actually a carnivorous pitcher plant.

I sat and researched what it might be exactly.

I narrowed it down to two possibilities:

- Sarracenia purpurea

- Sarracenia rosea

The exact species and variety are what I'm trying to pick out but i just can't seem to do so myself.

I read that one of the main differences lies in the flower. However mine hasn't flowered yet.

You'd probably have more luck in the "Name That Plant!" Forum, linked below.

To post pictures, use the img src="URL"> code. For instance, img src="http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s510/GD01/DSC_4349edited.jpg "> produces:

BTW, don't forget to add a width attribute for larger pictures. That will help keep the thread from being hard to read.

I would be surprised if your bought picture plant turned out to be a pure species specimen. Most I've seen are hybrids. In any event, I'd think IDing it from only the pictures you gave would be difficult at best.

Resembles Kalanchoe manginii.
