| Hello my name is Austin and I live in NC. I want to major in botany and also receive my doctorates degree.I have looked and search high and low for universities that offer these two, but the only universities I have come across are NC state and Appalachian state university. I was wondering if anyone knows or has gone to any other colleges in the USA that offers botany as a major? |

| Not too many schools offer graduate degrees strictly in 'botany'. From what I understand UW Madison and the University of Hawaii have very good botany departments. Supposedly Cornell has a doctoral program in botany but few pursue it. I think you will find more schools have departments in 'plant biology' or 'plant ecology' and these may offer everything you want. |
