Loss of color

I have a real interest in stem, leaf and flower varigation.
And will probably drive you all nuts with pictures and questions.

This is a coral porterweed I had last year.
It had some varigation when I bought it,
but after planting it, it shot up this colorless sport.
I know most of you all would have cut if off to keep the true color coming out.
Anyhow, the plant has since died.
Just thought I'd show you a picture of it......cheryl

**The small varigated leaves are the portorweed.
There is white copperleaf plant in front of it.
