One really different morning glory on vine

FatHen

I planted morning glories this year and one vine, indistinguishable from the others except for maybe a more reddish stem, produced just one flower that's really different. The flower was a long narrow tube, about 5" long but no wider than a morning glory at the open end. It was white. The base is bulbous and purplish red and green, and the seed pod or fruit is single instead of in a group of two or more like the others. It's also a lot bigger and taking a lot longer to ripen. (Right now the fruit is about an inch long.) Any idea what it is? The vine only made one of these, while the others produced thousands of flowers.
